What kind of service is provided by PAYG SIM?

PAYG SIM is a prepaid SIM card which is a combination of both Voice and Data communication service. You can use a Max. of 60 min. of local and international calls and 3GB of data within 7 days. This service will expire when you have reached a max. total usage of 60 min. call time or 7 days which ever comes first.

Can I make phone calls?

Yes, you can make international and/or local phone calls for a total of 60 min.

Can I check my call history?

No. you can not check your call history since we are not providing the call history service. Also your remaining call time is managed by our system that we are unable to answer your remaining call time even if you contact our b-mobile English Helpdesk.

Can I use SMS (Short Message Service)?

Yes, you can use SMS.
Domestic SMS : 5 sec. /1 message.
International SMS : 75 sec. /1 message

The time will subtract from the 60 min. voice communication.

Can I use MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)?

No, MMS is not available.

Can any one go through the subscription process?

Any non resident customer can go through the subscription process except for customers who have previously violated the b-mobile rules.

Japanese customers who reside abroad are also eligible to subscribe by uploading a picture of the immigration "return stamp" in the passport.

If I wrote an authorization letter, can I ask someone to go through the subscription process?

No, you can not. The subscription process must be done by your self.

I am under 20 years of age. Can I go through the subscription process?

No, you can not. You must be over 20 years old to go through the subscription process.

Can PAYG SIM be registered under a corporate contract?

No, PAYG SIM can not be registered under a corporate contract.

Can non Japanese register to PAYG SIM?

Yes

What do I need to do after I purchase the PAYG SIM?

What is the "Entry stamp"?

"Entry stamp" is a stamp or sticker which you receive from immigrations in your passport upon entering a country.

By when do I have to upload the picture of the "Entry stamp"?

Please upload the immigration "Entry stamp" within 24 hours from your arrival.
If you purchased the PAYG SIM after 24 hours from your arrival, please upload the picture within 24 hours from the activation date.

I went through the automated gate so I don't have the immigration "Entry stamp".

Please make sure to ask a Japan immigration officer for the "Entry stamp" upon entry.

I am Japanese, but reside in another country. I didn't receive the "Entry stamp".

Please upload a image of the immigration "Return stamp" in the passport.

I purchased more than one package. Can I register and use more than one SIM card at a time?

Yes, you can.

Can I choose the phone number?

No, you can not choose the phone number.

Do I have to go to the store to go through the subscription process?

No, the subscription process is available only online.

When can I start using PAYG SIM?

You can use it from the activation date.
We’ll send you a notification email when your SIM card is ready to use.

What is "Activation date"?

"Activation date" is the date your SIM card is ready to use.
You can choose this date in the subscription process.
Also you can change this date until the day before the original "Activation date".
You can not change the "Activation date" once your SIM card has beed activated.

What do I need to do after I have inserted the SIM card into my smart phone?

To make phone calls and send SMS, you don't need to do anything.
To use data communication, you'll need to set the APN information on your smart phone.

How to set your APN to your smart phone.

What is APN setting?

The APN (Access Point Name) is a network path for all cellular data connectivity. By setting the APN, your device allows you to use PAYG SIM.
You can make phone calls and send SMS without setting the APN.

Can I make VoIP calls?

It is possible to make VoIP calls, however the quality of the call will depend on the condition, time and traffic of the connection.

What SIM card size do you have?

We have standard, micro and nano size.

Is it possible to change the SIM card size from standard to micro or nano, and vice versa once a purchase is completed?

No it is not possible.

Can I use the same SIM card with different devices?

As long as the device which you use is compatible with our SIM, you can interchange your devices using the same SIM.

Does the PAYG SIM support international roaming?

No, international roaming is not supported.

Can I use the tethering feature?

The b-mobile SIM supports tethering, but please check that your device allows tethering.

Can it be used outside of Japan?

No, you cannot use PAYG SIM outside of Japan.
It is for use only within Japan.

Do we need to return the SIM card?

We would appreciate it if you can return the SIM card to the following address:

Zip code:105-0001, 4-1-28 Toranomon Towers office, Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo

There is no penalty or extra charge for not returning the SIM card.

What device can you use?

Please see the Supported Device page for devices that we can assure compatibility.
The use of the PAYG SIM with devices not found on this list would be at the risk of the customer.

Designation of Service Start Date?

If you complete the subscription process before 7 pm, the Service Start Date can be designated from the current day to 14 days from the subscription date.
If you complete the subscription process after 7pm, it can be designated from the following day.

I want to change the Service Start Date.

You can change the Service Start Date from the User Page. Changes can be made until the day before the original Service Start Date.
You can not change the Service Start Date once your SIM card has beed activated.

Is it ok to sell the SIM card to someone else (3rd party)?

The PAYG SIM should not be sold to a 3rd party.

Can I extend the usable period by charging?

No you can not. To extend your usable period, please purchase another PAYG SIM card.

Can I make Emergency calls?

Yes, you can.

Is the service available from 0 am on the Service Start Date?

No, the earliest activation time is 9 am. We’ll send you a notification email when your SIM card is ready to use.

Is there a PIN code?

Yes, the PIN code is "0000".

PIN code is locked. Can you tell me the number to unlock the code?

Where can I check my expiration date?

You can always check your service period days from the User Page.

Is there any cancellation procedure ?

No. there is not.

The data speed is slow

To maintain service quality for all users, JCI reserves the right to restrict the data transmission speed for customers who have used more than approximately 1GB over three consecutive days including the current day.

Some automatic data communication may occur without your direct approval or even awareness depending on your device.

Where can I purchase PAYG SIM?

You can purchase from the following web site or from other stores.

What payment methods are available on the b-market?

Only credit card payment is accepted.
VISA, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club.
We do not accept cash on delivery payment when purchasing PAYG SIM.

Is it possible to cancel my SIM card?

Once an order is completed, we will not provide refunds or cancel orders for any reason.

I wasn't able to use PAYG SIM. Can you provide a refund?

Unfortunately once an order is completed, we will not provide refunds for any reason.

I lost my SIM card. What should I do?

Please contact b-mobile English Helpdesk.
Our helpdesk operator can assist you by suspending your service so others cannot use it, as well as reactivating your service when you find your SIM card.

I lost my SIM card. Can you send me a new SIM card?

Unfortunately we cannot issue you a new SIM card.
You will need to purchase a new card.

I think my SIM card is broken. Can you send me another SIM card?

Please contact us by email or by phone and let us know your SIM phone number so that we may check the condition of your SIM. In our experience it is fairly rare that the SIM card is faulty and in most cases the problem lies in the set up of the SIM in the respective device.

Is there anything I should have ready when I make my call?

Before purchase: You do not need to prepare anything.
After purchase : Please have your SIM card, PAYG SIM Package and your smartphone ready.

I haven't received the "Shipment Confirmation" email.

The Shipment Confirmation email will be sent to you on the evening (after 9pm Japan time) after your package has been shipped out.

Is it possible to change the address or delivery date after purchasing the SIM card?

As a general rule, we do not accept delivery date or address changes once a purchase has been made.

How can I check the status of my delivery?

Please access the following site and enter your Tracking Number which is included in the Shipment Confirmation email. The Shipment Confirmation email will be sent to you on the evening (after 9pm Japan time) after your package has been shipped out.

Is there a delivery fee?

There is no delivery fee.

Can you transfer my package?

As a general rule, we do not accept address changes once a purchase has been made.
If you have received a Shipment Confirmation from us and wish to have the PAYG SIM forwarded to another address, please contact the courier directly to see if the courier will accommodate your request.
